SUMMARY
This enactment prohibits the sending of a commercial electronic message without the consent of the recipient. Consent to receiving commercial electronic messages from certain senders is presumed. The enactment sets out form and content requirements for commercial electronic messages, and also prohibits address harvesting, dictionary attacks and phishing. The enactment creates offences for the contravention of its provisions, as well as a civil right of action.
