Members of the Board of Directors approved the 2022–23 work plan for ParlAmericas, and conducted business; the business items included the Board’s Annual General Meeting and discussion of items relating to ParlAmericas’ budget and financing.

The Chair of the Canada-United Kingdom Inter-Parliamentary Association wrote to the Co-Chairs noting that the final budget granted to the Association for 2012-2013 was lower than the initial allocation granted by the JIC on March 7, 2012.

The committee is made up of a number of senators and MPs reflecting the proportionate share of the operating budget of the Branch as contributed by the Senate and the House of Commons, respectively. Committee members are elected at the CPA’s General Assembly.

The Board approved ParlAmericas’ annual work plan and discussed the ParlAmericas sexual exploitation, harassment and abuse prevention policy that ParlAmericas is developing. Finally, some participants provided an overview of recent ParlAmericas work-related activities in their countries.

(a) When the JIC has approved the budget, the Executive Committee shall meet to set the level of participation in each activity in that year’s work plan. (b) The names of the members taking part in each activity, if known, shall be decided at the meeting and submitted to the whips for approval.

A delegation of the Canada-UK Inter-Parliamentary Association visited Wales from March 13-18, 2011. The delegation was led by the Hon. Member of Parliament Marie-France Lalonde attended the meeting virtually for the Canadian Branch of the APF. She presented a new draft report theme on family patrimony and francophone women, a proposal that was approved by the Network. Ms. Lalonde announced that she would table an initial draft report in July 2024 at the Annual Session of the APF.
