PARLIAMENTARY OFFICERS' STUDY PROGRAM An opportunity for senior parliamentary staff from foreign legislatures and Canadian jurisdictions to learn about the functioning of the Parliament of Canada.

The Statutes and Rules of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) permits members to form geopolitical groups. These groups play an important role in the functioning and activities of the IPU. Canada belongs to the Twelve Plus Group and Canadian parliamentarians occasionally participate in meetings of its Steering Committee of representatives from approximately seven to nine member-countries.

Canada as a whole makes up one of the regions of the CPA, and its 14 branches correspond to the provincial and territorial legislative assemblies and the federal Parliament. Within the Canadian region, legislators can take part in a wide range of exchange programs, conferences and seminars.

The Standing Committee of Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region (SCPAR) held a regular meeting on 10 February 2022 via videoconference.
