October 26, 2022 Reception Celebrating 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations Between Canada and Italy Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Canada-Italy Interparliamentary Group (CAIT)

Members of the Canadian Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union UIPU) participated, two of whom, Rachel Blaney, MP and Sven Spengemann, MP were featured presenters together with Dr. Pechdau Tohmeena from Thailand’s House of Representatives and David Clarke from the World Health Organization. Senator Mohamed-Iqbal Ravalia also attended.

The administrations of the House of Commons and State Great Hural also signed a memorandum of cooperation. Delegates met with members of the Mongolia-Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group and with women parliamentarians elected to Mongolia’s State Great Hural.

The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) is the local government body responsible for the island of Tobago within the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. The THA was established in 1980 to rectify some of the disparities in the relationship between the two islands, though a prior body using the same name which existed from 1768–1874.

From November 14 to 16, 2013, the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honourable Andrew Scheer, M.P., led a parliamentary delegation to the XIXth Canada-Mexico Interparliamentary Meeting in Mexico.
