The Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, and a delegation of senators visited Panama and Costa Rica from January 16 to 25, 2007.

- Diplomacy - Parliament of Canada From June 30 to July 4, 2023, the Honourable Raymonde Gagné, Speaker of the Senate, and Mr. Chris d’Entremont, M.P., Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, participated in the 30th Annual Session of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), in Vancouver, B.C.

The Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, and a delegation of Senators visited France from May 16 to 21, 2008.

It is the ultimate judge of the election of members, senators and the president and supervises the administration of the Department of the Interior. The Council is assisted by an administrative tribunal. Last year, constitutional and regulatory amendments were made to the presidential election process to encourage female candidates to run.

In October 2010, the Honourable Donald H. Oliver, Q.C, from the Senate of Canada, was elected to a four year term to serve on the IPU Executive as a representative of the Twelve Plus Group, a geopolitical association of European and like minded nations.[5]

Senators René Cormier, Rosa Galvez, and Michael L. MacDonald also attended. Executive Committee members discussed priorities for the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas. They reviewed the budget for 2022–2023 then discussed a number of thematic issues, operational considerations, and future activities for the section.

Publication - Diplomacy - Parliament of Canada The Speaker of the Senate, the Honourable Dan Hays, and the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honourable Peter Milliken, led a joint parliamentary delegation which attended the XIIIth Mexico-Canada Inter-Parliamentary Meeting, held in Mexico City from January 24-27, 2005.

In accordance with the Statutes[2] of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), a 17-member body of parliamentarians oversees the administration of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and provides advice to its Governing Council[3].
