The Honourable Yuen Pau Woo, Senator, was invited to share his knowledge and experiences as Facilitator of the Independent Senators Group in the Senate of Canada. His presentation drew parallels between the Parliament of Canada and the Trinidad and Tobago Parliament.

From April 18 to 26, 2009, Senator the Honourable John Hogg, President of the Senate of Australia, led a parliamentary delegation to Quebec, Ottawa and Toronto, at the invitation of the Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate.

From January 12 to 21, 2005, the Speaker of the Senate led a parliamentary delegation composed of Senator Colin Kenny and Senator Terry Stratton to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and the United Kingdom. The delegation first traveled to the United Arab Emirates from January 13 to16, followed by Bahrain January 16 to 19, and the United Kingdom, January 19 to 20, 2005.
