Established in 1973, the Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers is an inter-regional, bi-national organization of 11 jurisdictions: six New England states – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont – and five Eastern Canadian provinces – New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.

On June 15, 2022, the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas (CPAM) hosted a reception on Parliament Hill for Ambassadors and High Commissioners of ParlAmericas’ member countries.

Members of the three Executive Committees of the ParlAmericas networks for gender equality, climate change and open parliament met to plan future work and inter-network collaboration.

The Chair, Ms. Aaja Chemnitz Larsen, Member of Parliament, Parliament of Denmark; the Vice-Chair, Mrs. Lisa Murkowski, Senator for Alaska, United States’ Senate; and the Secretary General, Mr. Peder Pedersen, from the Danish Parliament, were all extended in their current positions until the next CPAR.

The plenary session of the 18th Plenary Assembly of ParlAmericas offered a space for member parliaments to present the various legislative initiatives that their Parliament has been undertaking with the contribution of civil society and youth, to rebuild the social contract.
