The Honourable Peter Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada, and a parliamentary delegation traveled to Jamaica from February 28 to March 2, 2005. This official visit was the result of an invitation from the Honourable Michael Peart, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Jamaica.

The program ended with a cultural visit to Niagara Falls. The visit to Canada provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and the two parliaments, as well as an opportunity to discuss matters related to the Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth.

Delegations from the Canadian section also participate in national and regional conferences of governors and state legislators, as well as in national and regional summits organized by business groups and local parliamentary associations interested in transborder trade and tourism.

Within the Canadian region, legislators can take part in a wide range of exchange programs, conferences and seminars. The Canadian region also has its own publication, Canadian Parliamentary Review.
