Parliamentary Associations Associations promote the country’s interests abroad on a continuing basis and are composed of both members of the Senate and of the House of Commons. There are 8 Multilateral Associations and 5 Bilateral Associations.

The Honourable Marilou McPhedran, Senator, participated in discussions during the session on the legislative process. Her remarks focussed on the Senate of Canada’s role within the Parliament of Canada’s legislative process and touched on various themes including oversight, Senate Public Bills and committee work.

The newly elected members of the Bermuda House of Assembly participated in the post-election seminar, which is the oldest program run by the CPA. At the invitation of Her Excellency Raziah Ahmed, Senator, President of the Senate, and His Excellency Wade Mark, M.P., Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, the Honourable Leo Housakos, Speaker pro tempore of the Senate, led a parliamentary delegation on an official visit to Trinidad and Tobago on March 15-17, 2015.
