SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation Act to provide that a statutory moratorium on the exploration and drilling for, and the production, conservation and processing of, petroleum in the Canadian portion of Georges Bank in the offshore area, and the transportation of petroleum produced in that portion of the offshore area, be re-established and may also be extended by joint notice of the Minister of Natural Resources and his or her provincial counterpart.

SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi de mise en oeuvre de l’Accord Canada — Nouvelle-Écosse sur les hydrocarbures extracôtiers pour permettre le rétablissement d’un moratoire législatif sur la recherche, notamment par forage, la production, la rationalisation de l’exploitation et la transformation des hydrocarbures dans la partie canadienne du banc de Georges dans la zone extracôtière, ainsi que sur le transport des hydrocarbures qui y sont produits. Le moratoire peut être prolongé par un avis conjoint du ministre des Ressources naturelles et de son homologue provincial.
