An Act respecting Sir Wilfrid Laurier Day
WHEREAS Sir Wilfrid Laurier was born on November 20, 1841;
AND WHEREAS he was Prime Minister of Canada from 1896 to 1911;
AND WHEREAS he was the first Prime Minister of French ancestry and a fervent promoter of national unity;
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Day Act.

2. Throughout Canada, in each and every year, the twentieth day of November shall be known under the name of “Sir Wilfrid Laurier Day”.
