An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act
(designation of cable channels)

1. Paragraph 3(1)(t) of the Broadcasting
Act is amended by adding the following
after subparagraph (ii):

2. Section 26 of the Act is amended by
adding the following after subsection (1):
|
|
| Channel
allocation
|
(1.1) Notwithstanding subsection (1), the
Governor in Council shall not issue any
direction to the Commission to require a
distribution undertaking to provide a service
from a programming undertaking on a
particular channel or to prevent the
distribution undertaking and programming
undertaking from determining between them
which of the available channels a particular
program should be carried on.
