The Standing Joint Committee on Official Languages met at 3:38 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Joint-Chair (House of Commons), Raymonde Folco, presiding.
Members of the Committee present:
From the Senate: The Hon. Gérald A. Beaudoin, The Hon. Joan Fraser, The Hon. Jean-Claude Rivest, The Hon. Louis J. Robichaud.
From the House of Commons: Eugène Bellemare, Raymonde Folco, Yvon Godin, Grant Hill, Raymond Lavigne, Louis Plamondon.
In attendance: From the Seante: Luc Bégin, Joint Clerk of the Committee. From the Library of Parliament: Françoise Coulombe, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Treasury Board of Canada - Secretariat: Gaston Guénette, Assistant Secretary, Official Languages; Denis Côté, Director, Policy and Products; Charlotte Cloutier, Director, Programs and Liaison.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108 (4) (b), the Committee resumed consideration of official language policies and programs.
Gaston Guénette made an opening statement and with Denis Côté, answered questions.
At 5:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
