Tuesday, June 6, 2000

The Standing Joint Committee on Official Languages met in camera at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Raymonde Folco (House of Commons), presiding.

Members of the Committee present:

From the Senate: The Hon. Rose-Marie Losier-Cool, The Hon. Jean-Claude Rivest, The Hon. Louis J. Robichaud.

From the House of Commons: Mauril Bélanger, Eugène Bellemare, Raymonde Folco, Grant Hill, Louis Plamondon.

Acting Member present: The Honourable Joan Fraser for the Honourable Melvin Perry.

In attendance: From the Senate: Luc Bégin, Co-Clerk of the Committee. From the Library of Parliament: Françoise Coulombe, Researcher.

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108 (4)(b), the Committee resumed its study on the application of Part VII of the Official Languages Act.

The Committee began consideration of its interim draft Report on the Application of Part VII of the Official Languages Act.

At 4:00 p.m. the Honourable Rose-Marie Losier-Cool took the Chair.

At 4:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
