SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Old Age Security Act to provide that a pensioner’s guaranteed income supplement shall not be reduced as a result of an increase in the pensioner’s income under the Canada Pension Plan if that increase results solely from the indexation of that pension.

An Act to amend the Old Age Security Act (Canada Pension Plan payments) |
R.S., c. O-9
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1 The Old Age Security Act is amended by adding the following after section 12.1:
Restriction on reduction of supplement
Start of inserted block12.2 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, the amount of a supplement that is payable to a pensioner under this Part shall not be reduced as a result of an increase in the pensioner’s income under the Canada Pension Plan if that increase results solely from the indexation of that pension.
