SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Species at Risk Act to ensure that funds for the enumeration of a species, in connection with the financing of programs and measures for the conservation of wildlife species, are paid to the persons responsible before the enumeration of the species begins.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. Section 7 of the Species at Risk Act is amended by adding the following after subsection (2):
Funds for enumeration
(3) The Canadian Endangered Species Conservation Council shall ensure that funds for the enumeration of a wildlife species, in connection with the financing of programs and measures for the conservation of wildlife species, are paid to the persons responsible at least 30 days before the species is to be enumerated.
