SUMMARY
This enactment establishes the office of the Veterans’ Ombudsman and provides a mandate and a legislative framework for the Ombudsman to review certain matters relating to veterans and other clients, the exercise of the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Veterans Affairs under the Department of Veterans Affairs Act and systemic issues that relate to the operation of the Veterans Review and Appeal Board.

Le texte constitue le poste d’ombudsman des anciens combattants et en définit le mandat. Il établit un cadre législatif pour l’examen, par l’ombudsman, de certaines questions concernant les anciens combattants et d’autres clients, l’exercice des pouvoirs et fonctions du ministre des Anciens Combattants énoncés dans la Loi sur le ministère des Anciens Combattants, et les problèmes d’ordre systémique relatifs au fonctionnement du Tribunal des anciens combattants.
