An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (occupational disease registry)
R.S., c. L-2
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. Subsection 125(1) of the Canada Labour Code is amended by adding the following after paragraph (c):
(c.1) report to the Minister for the purposes of the occupational disease registry referred to in section 125.01 all accidents, occupational diseases and other hazardous occurrences known to the employer;
2. The Act is amended by adding the following after section 125:

125.01 (1) The Minister shall maintain an occupational disease registry containing information about all accidents, occupational diseases and other hazardous occurrences reported under paragraph 125(1)(c.1).
Information available
(2) The Minister shall make information contained in the registry readily available for examination by employees and potential employees for the purpose of identifying health and safety risks associated with various work places.
Disclosure
(3) The Minister may disclose information contained in the registry to an individual or organization for scientific research or statistical purposes, other than the identity of any person — or information that can reasonably be expected to be used in the identification of any person.
