SUMMARY
This enactment requires the Minister of the Environment to make regulations prohibiting the use, sale, manufacture and distribution of dishwasher detergent containing more than 0.5 per cent phosphorus by weight within 12 months after the enactment comes into force.

An Act to limit the use of phosphorus in dishwasher detergent
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
SHORT TITLE
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Phosphorus Control Act.
REGULATIONS
Regulations
2. The Minister of the Environment shall, within 12 months after the day on which this Act comes into force, make regulations prohib- iting the use, sale, manufacture and distribution of detergent to be used in a dishwasher, whether commercial or household, that contains more than 0.5 per cent phosphorus by weight.
