Visit to Ottawa of the Honourable Dan D’Autremont, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan
On March 8, 2013, the Honourable Dan D’Autremont, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, visited Ottawa at the invitation of the Honourable Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons. He was accompanied by Mr. Gregory A. Putz, Clerk of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan.
In Ottawa, Speaker D’Autremont held meetings with:
- The Honourable Andrew Scheer, M.P., Speaker of the House of Commons;
- Dr. Gary W. O’Brien, Clerk of the Senate and Clerk of Parliaments;
- Ms. Audrey O’Brien, Clerk of the House of Commons;
- Mr. Charles Robert, Principal Clerk, Chamber Operations and Procedure Office; and
- Mr. Blair Armitage, Principal Clerk, Communications Directorate and Acting Usher of the Black Rod.
The visit provided an opportunity to foster bilateral relations between the legislatures of Saskatchewan and Canada, as well as learn about the office, the role and the history of the Usher of the Black Rod.
