Visit to Canada of Her Excellency Elżbieta Witek, Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, and a Parliamentary Delegation

On June 14, 2022, Her Excellency Elżbieta Witek, Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, and a Parliamentary Delegation, visited Canada. The delegation consisted of Mr. Marek Pęk, Deputy Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Ms. Agnieszka Kaczmarska, Secretary General of the Chancellery of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland as well as Mr. Marek Kanabus, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Bureau of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. His Excellency Witold Dzielski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Canada, Mr. Andrzej Wiśniewski, Head of Protocol Section of the International Affairs Bureau of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, and Ms. Malwina Hajłasz-Nehrebecka, Head of the International Affairs Bureau of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, also accompanied the delegation.

In Ottawa, the delegation met with the following officials:

• The Honourable George J. Furey, Q.C., Speaker of the Senate;
• The Honourable Anthony Rota, Speaker of the House of Commons; and
• Mr. Irek Kusmierczyk, M.P., Chair of the Canada-Poland Friendship Group.

The working visit provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations between the Parliaments of Poland and Canada.
