Mr. Gallagher noted that the Arctic Council had granted observer status to number of countries, and understand the concerns of Canada has with regards to the European Commission. Mr. Gallagher was pleased that there was some progress with the application from EU and expressed hope that Canada and EU will find a solution in not too distant future.
