From 25-26 June 2007, members of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group attended the 31st conference of the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers (NEG-ECP) held in Brudenell, Prince Edward Island. This report summarizes the major points made during the conference.

Members raised some of the themes related to the drafting of the Conference Statement to be adopted at the next biennial Conference. The Conference, which was originally to be held in Norway in September 2020, is currently postponed to Spring 2021. The committee held a regular meeting on 4 June 2020 via videoconference.

The members of the Canadian Branch delegation were part of a 40 member Canadian Region delegation to the Conference, representing the provincial and territorial legislative bodies of the Canadian Region.

On June 20, the first joint political committee meeting between the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) and the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF) was held by videoconference at the invitation of Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of La Francophonie.
