Le présent rapport résume les principaux points abordés lors des séances d’ouverture et de clôture, ainsi que de certaines réunions des comités permanents. Le contexte de la rencontre d’été, qui précédait de plusieurs mois l’élection présidentielle de 2012, a été défini lors d’une conférence de presse d’ouverture.

Associations parlementaires Les associations font continuellement la promotion des intérêts du pays à l’étranger et elles sont composées de sénateurs et de députés.

The delegation felt that its participation at the conference gave it a better understanding of the issues facing ASEAN nations. The time spent with their ASEAN colleagues was an excellent opportunity for Canadian parliamentarians to forge and strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations with the nations of Southeast Asia.

La Régionale Amérique de l’Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF) et la Conférence des présidences de section Amérique se sont tenues à Bâton Rouge, en Louisiane, du 4 au 7 septembre 2023. La délégation canadienne était composée de sept parlementaires : 5 députés et 2 sénateurs.

1. La conférence La conférence a commencé par un mot d’ouverture du président de l’Union interparlementaire et de la directrice exécutive d’ONU Femmes.Nous avons entendu que les femmes sont actives dans les petites et les moyennes entreprises. Elles ont un rôle de moteur économique, mais leurs capacités sont sous-utilisées.

5. CONFERENCE IN WHITEHORSE 9-11 SEPTEMBER 2014 The 11th Conference of Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region will be hosted by the Canadian parliament in Whitehorse 9-11 September 2013. At the meeting in Washington DC, the Committee decided to start preparing a report which focus on the economic development and capacity building in the North.

Jointly organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the European Parliament, the event was planned to coincide with the Twelfth WTO Ministerial Conference scheduled to take place at the end of November 2021. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the WTO, delivered the keynote address to participants.
