The visit to Algeria —the first high-level visit from a Speaker of the Canadian Parliament in a number of years— served to strengthen relations and explore opportunities for further cooperation between our countries and institutions.

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Parliament Assembly (OSCE PA) adopted two Canadian resolutions at its Annual Session held in Oslo, Norway from 6 to 10 July 2010 on the future of the OSCE PA and on cyber crime.

The Canadian delegation was led by Member of Parliament Marie-France Lalonde, Chair of the Canadian branch of the Association, and consisted of Senator René Cormier, Association’s Vice-Chair, as well as Members of Parliament Lena Metlege Diab, Fayçal El-Khoury, Laila Goodridge, Denis Trudel and Dominique Vien.
