Canadian Section of the Canada-U.S. Inter-Parliamentary Group to
Participate in a Meeting with U.S. and Mexican Legislators
From 1-2 December 2014, Mr. Gord Brown, M.P., House of
Commons Co-Chair of the Canadian Section of the Canada-United States
Inter-Parliamentary Group, will lead a delegation to a meeting of federal
legislators from the three North American countries in Washington, D.C. The
all-party delegation will also include two Canadian Senators and three members
of the House of Commons.
This meeting will be the first occasion on which members of
the bilateral inter-parliamentary groups will meet trilaterally. Topics that
will be discussed include trade, security and energy.
The meeting will be
co-chaired by Mr. Gord Brown, House of Commons Co-Chair of the Canada-U.S.
Inter-Parliamentary Group, Representative Michael McCaul, Chairman of the
U.S.-Mexico Inter-Parliamentary Group, Representative Bill Huizenga, Chairman
of the U.S.-Canada Inter-Parliamentary Group, and Deputy Eloy Cantú Segovia,
Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Mexican Chamber of Deputies.
