264th SESSION OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE Geneva, 29-30 August 2012 Provisional annotated agenda 1. Adoption of the agenda 2. Financial questions (a) Draft programme and budget 2013 The Executive Committee will examine a first draft of the programme and budget. The Sub-Committee on Finance will report on its discussions in this regard. (b) Mobilization of voluntary funding for IPU activities The Secretary General and the Sub-committee on Finance will report on the situation of voluntary funding. 3. Implementation of the IPU Strategy 2012-2017 The Executive Committee will revert to the issue of implementation of the IPU Strategy. In particular, it will re-examine the document submitted at its session in Kampala in regard to improving the functioning of the IPU Assembly and its subsidiary organs (EX/263/9(a)-P.1). 4. IPU communications strategy The Executive Committee will be informed of progress in implementing the communications strategy and will have an initial discussion about the IPU’s visual identity. 5. Parliamentary capacity building The Committee will be updated on IPU efforts to build capacity in parliament. It will receive a recent external evaluation of its technical assistance activities. It will also have an opportunity to discuss support from the international community to parliaments. 6. Questions relating to IPU membership The Committee will review developments in the situation of a number of member parliaments. 7. Any other business The Committee is invited to comment on a proposal of the Arab Parliament to hold a conference at IPU Headquarters on the case of detained Palestinian parliamentarians.
