Meeting No. 2

Thursday, April 10, 2003

The Standing Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament met at 9:12 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Joint Chairs, Carolyn Bennett and the Hon. Yves Morin, presiding.

 

Member of the Committee present representing the Senate: the Hon. Yves Morin.

Members of the Committee present representing the House of Commons: Carolyn Bennett, Grant Hill and Jerry Pickard.

Acting Member from the House of Commons present: Benoît Sauvageau pour Marcel Gagnon.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament:  Lalita Acharya and James Robertson, Analysts.

Witnesses: From the Library of Parliament: Richard Paré, Parliamentary Librarian; Hugh Finsten, Associate Parliamentary Librarian; Lynn Brodie, Director, Collections Division; Monique Boutin, Director, Finance and Material Management Division; Roland Bonnaventure, Director, Human Ressources.

The Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2003-2004:  Vote 10 under Parliament referred to the Committee by the House of Commons on February 26, 2003 and by the Senate on February 27, 2003.

Richard Paré made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 10:40 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Joint Chairs.
