The Standing Joint Committee on Official Languages met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, The Hon. Shirley Maheu, presiding.

From the House of Commons: Eugène Bellemare, Gérard Binet, Sarmite Bulte, Claude Drouin, Yvon Godin, Benoît Sauvageau.

In attendance:

From the Senate: Tonu Onu, Co-Clerk of the Committee. From the House of Commons: Jean-François Pagé, Co-Clerk of the Committee. From the Library of Parliament: Robert Asselin, researcher, Library of Parliament; Françoise Coulombe.

Witness(es): From the Air Canada: Stephen Markey, Vice President, Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs; Michèle Perreault-Ieraci, Director, Employment Equity and Linguistic Affairs.

In accordance with Standing Order 108 (1a) (2), a study on the bilingual services offered by Air Canada.

Michelle Perreault-Ieraci made an opening statement and with Stephen Markey, answered questions.

At 5:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
