SUMMARY |

The purpose of this enactment is to replace discriminatory refer
ences to old age in federal statutes with the term ``seniors'' in order to
reflect the attitudes and values of modern Canadian society. Among the
changes made to those federal statutes is a new title for the Old Age
Security Act. It would now be known as the Seniors' Income Security
Act.
