SUMMARY This enactment requires the Governor in Council to amend the Seeds Regulations to require that an analysis of potential harm to export markets be conducted before the sale of any new genetically engineered seed is permitted.		SOMMAIRE Le texte oblige le gouverneur en conseil à modifier le Règlement sur les semences afin d’exiger, avant de permettre la vente de toute nouvelle semence transgénique, que soit menée une analyse du risque potentiel pour les marchés d’exportation.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Seeds Regulations Act.

1. Loi relative au Règlement sur les semences.

Titre abrégé

Amendment of regulations

2. The Governor in Council shall, within 60 days after this Act comes into force, amend the Seeds Regulations to require that an analysis of potential harm to export markets be conducted before the sale of any new genetically engineered seed is permitted.

2. Dans les soixante jours suivant l’entrée en vigueur de la présente loi, le gouverneur en conseil modifie le Règlement sur les semences afin d’exiger, avant de permettre la vente de toute nouvelle semence transgénique, que soit menée une analyse du risque potentiel pour les marchés d’exportation.
