SUMMARY
This enactment authorizes a court that sentences or discharges an offender who has committed an offence in respect of a person under the age of fourteen years to prohibit the offender from being in the presence of such a person.

An Act to amend the Criminal Code (addition to order of prohibition)
R.S., c. C-46
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. Subsection 161(1) of the Criminal Code is amended by striking out the word “or” at the end of paragraph (b), by adding the word “or” at the end of paragraph (c) and by adding the following after paragraph (c):
(d) being in the presence, whether alone or with any other person or group of persons designated by the court, of a person under the age of fourteen years except fortuitously or fleetingly and otherwise than in a manner provided for by the court.
