Kristina Michaud, MP and rapporteur for the APF’s Network of Young Parliamentarians, represented the Canadian Branch at this event, which brought together 45 participants from various countries. Ms. Michaud discussed the role of young APF members in politics and their contributions.

Ms. Brenda Shanahan, MP, presented some of the Parliament of Canada’s various mechanisms for holding parliamentarians responsible and accountable. She also stressed the importance of transparency as well as personal and institutional responsibility in building trust between parliamentarians and the public.
