Discussions focussed on visa requirements, parliamentary relations between the two countries and how Parliament functions in Canada. Ms. Szili and her delegation visited the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau and the Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal, and met with members of Montreal’s Hungarian community.

The visit served to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and allowed the delegates to meet with various Canadian officials. A number of topics were discussed, including the functioning of the Parliament of Canada, Parliamentary procedure in a bicameral Parliament and a provincial parliament, accountability, the role of parliamentary officers , trade, immigration, and education.

Accompanying the delegation were Jean Michel Roy, Branch Executive Secretary, and Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst with the Library of Parliament.
