The delegation had the opportunity to discuss a range of issues relating to parliamentary governance including the security of parliamentarians and parliamentary precinct, the reform of the House of Lords and the changes in parliamentary practice and procedure imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

From March 3–5, 2020, the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honourable Anthony Rota, M.P., and the Honourable Patricia Bovey, Senator, on behalf of the Honourable George J. Furey, Q.C., Speaker of the Senate, led a parliamentary delegation to the XXIII Mexico–Canada Interparliamentary Meeting in Mexico City, Mexico.

In addition to these meetings, the delegation visited the Chamber temporarily being used for the Senate and the House sittings. The delegation was also invited to attend a sitting of the Senate.
