Associations promote the country’s interests abroad on a continuing basis and are composed of both members of the Senate and of the House of Commons. There are 8 Multilateral Associations and 5 Bilateral Associations.

In addition to these meetings, the delegation visited the Chamber temporarily being used for the Senate and the House sittings. The delegation was also invited to attend a sitting of the Senate.

From April 2 to 7, 2024, the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honourable Greg Fergus, P.C., M.P., led a parliamentary delegation to the Republic of Kenya and the Republic of Rwanda.

Speakers' Activities and Reports The Speaker of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Commons are fourth and fifth respectively on the Order of Precedence of Canada, with the first three being the Governor General, the Prime Minister, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

From October 15 to 19, 2007, Her Excellency Jozefina Topalli, M.P., Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania, led a parliamentary delegation for an official visit to Ottawa, Toronto and Niagara Falls, at the invitation of the Honourable Peter Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons.
