Both parties highlighted how Canada and the United Kingdom can leverage their close ties and shared values to bring about common policy objectives on the global stage, particularly in the Asia Pacific region and South America.

The 2023 Westminster Seminar on Parliamentary Practice and Procedure organized by the United Kingdom Branch of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association gathered 65 parliamentarians and clerks from every region of the Commonwealth to exchange ideas and build knowledge around topics relevant to Westminster-style democracies.

The purpose of the visit to the United Kingdom was to have an audience with His Majesty King Charles III. During this meeting, the King presented a new ceremonial sword to the Usher of the Black Rod. The report will be available as soon as it is tabled in the Senate.

The Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF) Network of Women Parliamentarians (Network) was formed in 2002 to promote greater participation of women in political, economic, social and cultural life across the francophone world. The Network met in Cotonou, Benin, from April 17 to 19, 2024.
