The Honourable Jane Cordy, Senator, attended this Committee meeting on Civil Dimension of Security to learn about Estonia’s experience in building resilience to disinformation and cyberthreats.

The meeting was held in Big Sky, Montana. Senator Lang, who chairs the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence, spoke to participants about the Committee’s recent report on countering the terrorist threat in Canada. During the annual summit, a variety of topics of interest to both Canada and the United States were discussed.

The Chair, Ms. Aaja Chemnitz Larsen, Member of Parliament, Parliament of Denmark; the Vice-Chair, Mrs. Lisa Murkowski, Senator for Alaska, United States’ Senate; and the Secretary General, Mr. Peder Pedersen, from the Danish Parliament, were all extended in their current positions until the next CPAR.

Ms. McPherson was a featured panellist. In her remarks, she noted that Canada has made progress in increasing women’s political participation, particularly in terms of nearly achieving a critical mass of women parliamentarians in the House of Commons (29.5%) and gender parity in the Senate (49.5%).
