The Senate of Canada was represented by the Senators Raynell Andreychuk, Marcel Prud’homme, P.C., Pierrette Ringuette and Terry Stratton. FIPA’s sixth Plenary Meeting was attended by 80 parliamentarians from 22 countries. Each of the four FIPA sub-regions was represented: North America; Central America; the Caribbean; and South America.

From May 9 to 12, 2022, His Excellency Dr. Andreas Norlén, Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden, led a delegation to Ottawa and Québec City at the invitation of the Honourable George J. Furey, Q.C., Speaker of the Senate, and the Honourable Anthony Rota, M.P., Speaker of the House of Commons.

The Speaker of the Senate, the Honourable Dan Hays, and the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honourable Peter Milliken, led a joint parliamentary delegation which attended the XIIIth Mexico-Canada Inter-Parliamentary Meeting, held in Mexico City from January 24-27, 2005.

From February 26 to March 3, 2023, the Speaker of the Senate, the Honourable George J. Furey, K.C., led a parliamentary delegation to the State of Israel and the Czech Republic.

The Honourable Raymonde Gagné, C.M., O.M., Speaker of the Senate; The Honourable Greg Fergus, P.C., M.P., Speaker of the House of Commons; The Honourable Pierre Poilievre, P.C., M.P., Leader of the Official Opposition; and The Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, chaired by Mr. Yvan Baker, M.P.

Senators René Cormier, Rosa Galvez, and Michael L. MacDonald also attended. Executive Committee members discussed priorities for the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas. They reviewed the budget for 2022–2023 then discussed a number of thematic issues, operational considerations, and future activities for the section.
