Parliamentary Associations Associations promote the country’s interests abroad on a continuing basis and are composed of both members of the Senate and of the House of Commons. There are 8 Multilateral Associations and 5 Bilateral Associations.

From October 10 to 14, 2010, the Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, led an official delegation composed of the Honourable Senators Ethel Cochrane and Tommy Banks, to the Czech Republic.

The Senator reviewed the final program of the Plenary Assembly. She gave the list of the delegates (43 parliamentarians) from 11 Countries who registered to the Assembly, although she mentioned that late registrations were not included in this list. The FIPA President then welcomed Senator Hervieux-Payette who joined in by teleconference.

The Honourable Yuen Pau Woo, Senator, was invited to share his knowledge and experiences as Facilitator of the Independent Senators Group in the Senate of Canada. His presentation drew parallels between the Parliament of Canada and the Trinidad and Tobago Parliament.

Mr. Bob Mills, MP led a delegation of three Parliamentarians to the Eighth Conference of Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region[1] in Fairbanks, Alaska from 12 to 14 August 2008.
