On June 5th 2020, the Honourable Rosa Galvez, Senator, Vice-Chair of the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas, moderated a virtual dialogue entitled “Legislating for Post COVID-19 Economic Recovery: Cooperative Dialogue between Presiding Officers of Parliaments of the Americas.” Presiding officers of 15 legislatures from across the Americas participated in the dialogue in Spanish.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union is a unique organization made up of national parliaments from around the world which works to protect and build global democracy through political dialogue and concrete action. The theme of the general debate at the 139th Assembly was Parliamentary leadership in promoting peace and development in the age of innovation and technological change.
