From November 17 to 24, 2004, the Speaker of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation and Mr. John Clerc, Assistant Secretary-General of the Federal Assembly visited Ottawa and Regina at the invitation of the Honourable Peter Milliken, M.P., Speaker of the House of Commons.

On June 26, 2006, the Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, led a parliamentary delegation comprised of the Honourable Colin Kenny and the Honourable Donald Oliver to Washington, D.C. This was the first international visit led by the Honourable Noël A. Kinsella as Speaker of the Senate.

The Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, and a Parliamentary Delegation visited England and Wales, United Kingdom and the Netherlands from May 16 to 23, 2014.

This visit to Canada provided an excellent opportunity to deepen the bilateral relations between both countries and both parliaments. Discussions on the administration of the Senate and the House of Commons, parliamentary procedure, the use of new information technologies and heritage assets management provided the Scottish delegation with useful information for their parliament.
