The visit of the Tunisian parliamentary delegation was part of the political reconfiguration process in Tunisia following the adoption of the new constitution of the Republic of Tunisia in January 2014. President Ben Jaâfar presented an official copy of the constitution to Speakers Kinsella and Scheer.

The purpose of the delegation’s visit was twofold. The first objective was to discuss Canada’s and Argentina’s mutual involvement in FIPA and for the Canadian delegates to take advantage of FIPA’s function as a forum for inter-parliamentary cooperation and diplomacy to engage their Argentine counterparts in dialogue on a number of issues.
