A Canadian delegation participated in a parliamentary meeting that is held every year when the UN Commission on the Status of Women meets in New York. This meeting was hosted by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) on the topic of Empowering Rural Women: What Role for Parliaments?

Marc Serré, président de la Section canadienne de ParlAmericas, a participé à un webinaire sur la poursuite des travaux parlementaires en ligne pendant la pandémie de COVID-19 organisé par le consortium Open Parliament e-Network composé de nombreuses organisations internationales comme ParlAmericas.

Entre 60 000 et 80 000 touristes débarquent chaque année; certains navires transportent jusqu’à 5 500 passagers. Il indique que l’entente sur la recherche et le sauvetage signée par les États membres du Conseil de l’Arctique constitue un bon point de départ, mais qu’elle n’offre pas une meilleure capacité pour ce type d’opérations.
