On 17 April 2023, James Maloney, M. P., Chair of the Canada–United Kingdom Inter-Parliamentary Association (RUUK), hosted a luncheon in honour of Alison Johnstone, the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, and two of her fellow members of the Scottish Parliament, Collette Stevenson and Finlay Carson.

Next, Mr. Samson gave an update on recent Canadian parliamentary events and highlighted two bills currently before the Parliament of Canada: Bill C-13, An Act for the Substantive Equality of Canada’s Official Languages, and Bill C-22, the Canada Disability Benefit Act.
