From September 24 to 28, 2007, at the invitation of the Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, the Right Honourable the Baroness Hayman, Lord Speaker of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, visited Ottawa, Victoria and Vancouver.

From April 11 to 21, 2022, the Speaker of the Senate, the Honourable George J. Furey, Q.C., led parliamentary delegations to the Hellenic Republic and to the United Kingdom.

Speaker D’Souza hosted a lunch for the delegation in the former residence of the Lord Chancellor. The informal conversation covered a number of topics including security and parliamentary privilege.

His Excellency Howard Drake OBE, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Canada, also accompanied the Lord Speaker during the visit.

In my case, I spent an afternoon with Lord Corbett of Castle Vale. When I learned about my visit, I thought I would be going to the castle of a Lord! Instead, Lord Corbett of Castle Vale took me to a community development project serving approximately eight thousand citizens.
