The U.K. representatives noted that the European Union has been working towards severe reductions in greenhouse gases and the United Kingdom has to comply with the legislation enacted by the European Parliament. During the discussions, they expressed concern at the lack of leadership being shown by Canada in implementing the Kyoto Accord.
