The Standing Committee met on Sunday, April 5 th, 2009 and the meeting was chaired by Mr. John Tanner, President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and Representative from the United States.

On March 13 to 15, 2018, the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honourable Geoff Regan, P.C., M.P., made an official visit to the United Nations in New York, United States of America. The Speaker was accompanied by Mr. Brian Underhill, Chief of Staff, Office of the Speaker of the House of Commons, and Ms. Mireille Aubé, Visit Officer.

The purpose of the visit to the Kingdom of Morocco was to strengthen bilateral relations, promote democratic values and Canadian interests, enhance trade and investment relations, and explore opportunities for further cooperation in the area of education through increased collaboration between educational institutions.
