The Canadian delegation was led by Member of Parliament Marie-France Lalonde, Chair of the Canadian branch of the Association, and consisted of Senator René Cormier, Association’s Vice-Chair, as well as Members of Parliament Lena Metlege Diab, Fayçal El-Khoury, Laila Goodridge, Denis Trudel and Dominique Vien.

Members of the delegation then visited a nearby informal tented settlement, where they were welcomed by representatives from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF). After the visit, the delegation met with two Syrian refugee families.
