There was some discussion about the hosting of Assembly meetings in 2011. As 12+ Members were aware, Canada had bid to host the Assembly but the visa issues remains unsolved. Panama had also now offered to host the meeting. The Secretary General had sent a representative to look at possible conference venues.

The parliamentary delegation of the Canadian Branch of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF), which participated in the meeting of the APF Political Committee held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, from March 23 to 26, 2015, is honoured to present its report.

The Parliamentary Conference on the Global Economic Crisis was organized on the initiative of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to educate parliamentarians on the current economic upheaval and to give them the opportunity to meet with highly qualified experts and benefit from their knowledge. Another objective of the conference was to develop ideas for a parliamentary strategy.

These obstacles include the dissolution of parliament, the constitutional changes enacted by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (granting legislative power to the army and stripping the President of powers in the field of the budget and foreign and defence policy) and the questionable independence and impartiality of the Constitutional Court.

From June 30 to July 5, 2016, the Speaker of the Senate, the Honourable George J. Furey, Q.C., led a parliamentary delegation on an official visit to France.
